WalkthroughREST v1 endpoint declarations and service wrappers now support version-based routing for several operations. Older servers retain DDP paths where defined. Tests cover routing, request parameters, search usernames, and error-message selection. ChangesREST API version routing

1073-1076: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winSequential-failure risk:
addUsersToRoomfires all invites in parallel and leaves partial state on failure.
Promise.allrejects on the first failure, but the other requests still run. The caller then shows an error (it logs the error and does not pop), although some users were added. The PR notes that the server may throttle requests. Parallel requests make throttling errors more likely.Consider sending the invites in sequence, or use
Promise.allSettledand report the failed usernames. This keeps the outcome predictable.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

The REST spotlight endpoint takes usernames as a comma-separated string, so a group DM name such as "alice, bob" was split by the server into real usernames and the first member was hidden from remote search results. DDP passed the name as a single array entry that matched nobody, so drop names containing a comma from the REST request to keep that behaviour.
…erts - invite all selected users to a private group with a single groups.invite call (usernames list), so adding many members no longer trips the per-route REST rate limit; channels.invite still takes one user per request - fall back to the DDP reason and the plain Error message in showErrorAlertWithEMessage, so the add-users alert is no longer blank on older servers or network errors - type saveAutoTranslate so autoTranslate only accepts a boolean - drop the stale joinRoom cast, the readThreads Promise<void> shim, the version comments that repeat the gate, and a mock-only e2e test - rename group DM wording to multi-user direct message

1062-1065: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick winPartial failure leaves channel invites half-applied.
On servers 8.6.0+, the
channels.invitebranch sends one request per user throughPromise.all. If one request fails, the promise rejects at once. The other requests are still in flight, so their outcome is not reported. The user sees one error, but some invites may still succeed. The user cannot tell which ones.Run the requests in sequence, or use
Promise.allSettled. Then report the failed usernames. The PR description accepts partial success, so this is a UX risk and not a blocker.🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

135-139: 🎯 Functional Correctness | 💤 Low valueGroup DM names with commas are dropped from the
usernamesexclusion list. The REST path drops any entry that contains a comma. The filter prevents wrong splitting of the comma-separated string. The server then no longer excludes those group DMs. Group DMs can appear in remote search results again. This is an accepted tradeoff and the tests document it. No change is needed if this is intended.

Before 8.9.0 the REST spotlight route falls back to the default REST rate limit (10 calls per minute), while the DDP method allows 100 per 100 seconds, so non-admin users would silently lose remote search results.
…stApi tests - rooms.join and autotranslate.saveSettings accept null joinCode / defaultLanguage since 8.6.0, so pass them through instead of building the request with conditional spreads - move restApi.test.ts into __tests__/ (CODING_STANDARDS: co-located tests move once their source is touched) and name the version gate tests restApi.<wrapper>.test.ts like the existing ones - align the readThreads test with its sibling version gate tests

Learning: In TypeScript test files, do not require explicit return-type annotations on `it()` callbacks when the surrounding test suite omits them. Also, do not require explicit parameter types when TypeScript correctly infers them from a typed mocked function signature, such as `UserPreferences.getString`.
Applied to files:

Meteor tags a DDP rate-limit error `too-many-requests`, not `error-too-many-requests`, so with the error key now preferred over the reason the alert showed the raw key. Detect the rate limit from the REST body or the error message before picking the key.

Proposed changes
Server 9.0.0 removes these DDP methods. On servers that have the REST endpoint the app now uses it; older servers keep the DDP call.

autotranslate.saveSettingsexpects a boolean forautoTranslate, so the wrapper takes a boolean and only converts to'1'/'0'for the DDP call.channels.invitetakes one user per request (from 8.8.0 it rejects ausernameslist, so this is the only form that works on every version), so adding several members to a channel sends one request per user, in parallel. If an invite fails, the ones that succeeded stay added and the error is shown once every request has finished. The screen stays open with the same selection, so a retry sends every selected user again.groups.inviteaccepts ausernameslist, so private groups send a single request.channels.invitehas no route-specific rate limit, so it falls under the REST default (10 calls per minute unless the user has the bypass permission). Selecting more than 10 users for a public channel in one go can get the extra invites rejected. A server-side fix is in progress.showErrorAlertWithEMessageshows the REST error, then the DDP error key, then the DDPreason, then theErrormessage.spotlightswitches to REST at 8.9.0, not 8.6.0. Before 8.9.0 the route falls back to the REST default limit (10 calls per minute), which search hits quickly and then silently shows only local results. The server aligned it with DDP's 100 calls per 100 seconds in chore: align REST rate limits with the DDP methods they replaced Rocket.Chat#42104 (8.9.0).searchRemoteleaves multi-user direct message names (e.g.alice, bob) out of theusernamesit passes tospotlight: the REST route splits that parameter on commas, so those names would otherwise exclude real users from the results. The filter lives insearchRemote, so it applies on every server version.spotlightsends at most 50 names inusernames: over REST the list goes in the query string, and a long one makes the URL too long for the server, which silently drops the remote results. Results already shown locally are still filtered out on the device.im.blockUserhas no target user parameter: the server blocks the other member of the DM.getThreadMessages(chore: migrate getThreadMessages method to chat.getThreadMessages rest api #7773) andloadNextMessages.Summary by CodeRabbit
