Add thousand separator for long numeric output type for example 1,234 instead of 1234

Even though this change is very small, it changes the card for many existing users. Therefore I would not like to merge this change for now. If there is a lot of interest from the community in this change, we could include it in a potential upcoming release of a new major version.
In the meantime, everyone is welcome to leave a 👍 reaction on this PR if you want to have this merged in the future.
