When leaving the app for too long, reopening goes back to the default list screen. Recently I've had to repeatedly navigate back to the same note after leaving the app.

Store the last open note and navigate to it when the app is opened.

To access a note quickly, i add emojis as tags, like "🪙" and then when i search 🪙, only that note pops up.
It's quick and you can do it right now.
You can also try using the widgets, or you can make a "favorite notes" list and use that as the default list

Thank you for the tips! In my case so far, getting back to the note via search has been relatively quick (such that emoji markers probably won't help much here). It still adds up and becomes quite tedious when switching back and forth with another app or when I have to set my phone down and check back on the note frequently (eg recipe notes, shopping lists).

Iirc I could only find a widget for opening note lists and not for specific notes.
