New Features

App Installer

microG Companion can now receive requests from other apps (e.g. Aurora Store) to install an app for them. This allows them to be recorded as installed from the com.android.vending package by the system, which is used as an installation source indicator by some apps.

Live location sharing

Some Google apps (e.g. Maps) can now instruct microG to share your location live with Google servers, so you can share it with friends or family while on the way. microG will always ask you to confirm you want to share location information.

• Users on devices with an aftermarket custom operating system ("Custom ROM") that supports microG should install com.google.android.gms-250932020.apk and com.android.vending-84022620.apk. These versions are also distributed through the microG F-Droid repository.
• Users on Huawei devices running original operating system (EMUI or HarmonyOS) that supports microG should install com.google.android.gms-250932020-hw.apk and com.android.vending-84022620-hw.apk. These versions are also distributed through Huawei AppGallery.
• org.microg.gms-250932020-user.apk is a development preview for special situations. Do not use it except if you know why.
