Hunyuan3D 2 Mini Turbo fails to load due to dependency version conflict #374
After installing the Hunyuan3D 2 Mini Turbo extension through Modly, the model consistently crashed during loading and could not generate 3D meshes. The regular Hunyuan3D Mini extension worked, but Mini Turbo failed even when using Low quality. Repairing and reinstalling the extension through Modly did not resolve the issue.
Steps to Reproduce
Install the Hunyuan3D 2 Mini Turbo extension through Modly v0.4.3.
Attempt to load the model.
Try generating 3D meshes, including with Low quality.
Repair or reinstall the extension through Modly.
Expected Behavior
The Hunyuan3D 2 Mini Turbo model should load successfully and generate 3D meshes.
Actual Behavior
The model crashes during loading and cannot generate meshes. The initial traceback showed a checkpoint loading failure with missing and unexpected keys in SingleImageEncoder, including:
RuntimeError: Error(s) in loading state_dict for SingleImageEncoder:
Missing key(s):
main_image_encoder.model.encoder.layer.0.attention.q_proj.weight
Unexpected key(s):
main_image_encoder.model.encoder.layer.0.attention.attention.query.weight
Similar errors appeared for other attention and MLP weights, suggesting an incompatibility between the installed model implementation and checkpoint. The post also notes that the extension's dependency requirements allow newer versions that may be incompatible, and that the installation contained Transformers 5.20.0, Diffusers 0.41.0, and Hugging Face Hub 1.33.0.
These commands were executed using the Python executable inside the Mini Turbo extension's own venv, not the system-wide Python installation.
After installing these versions, pip check returned:
No broken requirements found.
I restarted Modly and ran Hunyuan3D 2 Mini Turbo again.
Result: The extension successfully loaded and generated a 3D model.
Thank you for developing Modly. I wanted to report this because the extension works successfully once the dependency versions are corrected, and the fix may help other users experiencing the same crashes.
