- Pin the MCP Python SDK below the incompatible 2.x exception rename
- Enforce the documented UXarray 2026.7.0 minimum
- Add a real stdio MCP initialize, tools/list, and tools/call smoke test
- Run the handshake against clean wheel installs in CI and release verification
- Prevent future releases that install successfully but cannot start the MCP server
