GitHub releases now have a repeatable browser gate against the exact unmodified ZIP they distribute. The harness loads the ZIP into isolated Chrome for Testing, activates the actual toolbar popup with the shipping permissions, and checks picking, draft protection and storage-failure retry, History editing/persistence, legacy Region/PDF/Visual/Add records, selected deletion, all five exports, and restricted-page/PDF native popup fallback.
CI and tagged releases run the gate after packaging and retain traces, synthetic screenshots, exports, and a digest-bound JSON report. Tagged releases attach that report to the draft. Documentation records the owner's replacement of the human-only browser gate and the narrow residual OS-hotkey/browser-version limits; Store publication remains separate.
Validation: 49 unit/integration tests plus release assertions passed; release checks, production audit (zero vulnerabilities), package verification and diff checks passed. Exact-ZIP acceptance passed locally in Chrome for Testing 153, including exported byte checks and actual clipboard readback. No shipping extension files or permissions change.
