The Tests workflow installs every dependency from PyPI, so a breaking change in qiskit-addon-sqd only surfaces here once it has been released. This adds a nightly Development version tests workflow that builds qiskit-addon-sqd from its main branch, pins the resulting wheel into pyproject.toml with extremal-python-dependencies, and runs tox -e py,notebook, mpi.

This was first suggested in #6, which tracks several CI additions. It ticks the "development version tests" box there; the minimum-version tests suggested in the same issue are not included here, so #6 should stay open.

qiskit-addon-sqd is the only dependency built from a checkout. It is the one whose API this package calls directly — the SQD integration tests drive its entry point, and the example notebook imports qiskit_addon_sqd.counts and qiskit_addon_sqd.fermion. Pinning it to a development wheel lets pip resolve its own requirements, so a qiskit release incompatible with sqd's main branch still shows up without building qiskit here too.

The matrix is deliberately narrow — Linux, Python 3.10 and 3.14 — since it is a canary rather than a compatibility matrix, and the full cross product already runs in Tests.

Note that pin-dependencies also appends a [tool.hatch.metadata] section, which is inert for this setuptools-based project.

As a scheduled workflow, this will not run on main until after merge.

This pull request was drafted by Claude Opus 5 under my guidance.

The existing Tests workflow installs every dependency from PyPI, so a
breaking change upstream only surfaces here once it has been released.
Add a nightly job that builds qiskit-addon-sqd from its main branch and
pins the resulting wheel into pyproject.toml before running the suite,
which gives advance warning instead.

qiskit-addon-sqd is the only dependency built from a checkout. It is the
one whose API this package calls directly -- the SQD integration tests

it to a development wheel lets pip resolve its own requirements, so a

Only Linux and the two ends of the supported Python range are covered.

cross product already runs in the Tests workflow.

Development-version tests were first suggested in #6, which tracks
several CI additions and stays open for the remaining ones.
