The Line/Col information doesn't appear in the status bar until the first tab switch.

To Reproduce

  1. Close all workspaces
  2. Go to CodeEdit welcome screen
  3. Open a project
  4. Try clicking around/selecting text---nothing happens
  5. Switch to another tab---should now work as expected

Expected Behavior

Tab switch should not be required

    Hi, I’d like to work on this issue. I have a small local fix that resolves the initial status bar cursor position after opening a workspace and adds a focused UI regression test. If this is still available, could I be assigned?

    Taking this — I'll investigate why the status bar (line/col) doesn't update until the first tab switch after opening a workspace, and open a PR.

    Opened a refined fix in #2188 (addresses instance reuse + nil cursor clears + label identity). Happy to coordinate with #2177 if maintainers prefer that branch instead.
