Copilot This PR was opened by Dependabot. Please take it the rest of the way before it's ready for human review:

  1. Impact analysis — review the PR diff/description to identify what changed, including the package name and old → new version, then check where that dependency is actually used in the codebase, or whether it is unused, and summarize the potential impact.
  2. Fix build/conflict issues — run npm ci --legacy-peer-deps, npm run build, and npm run lint; resolve any merge conflicts, build errors, or lint errors that surface.
  3. Tests — add or update tests under tests/** to cover the changed usage, and make sure they meaningfully validate the change (not just re-assert the version bump).
  4. Run the suite — run the relevant npm run test:* script(s) for the affected area (e.g. test:blob, test:queue, test:table) and keep fixing until they pass.
  5. Changelog — Add a changelog entry only for changes that an Azurite user, operator, SDK developer, or extension user could reasonably observe. Exclude internal maintenance, testing, CI/CD, linting, and development dependency updates unless they result in a user-visible behaviour, compatibility, performance, or security improvement.
  6. Comments — review any existing PR comments and review threads, including resolved/hidden ones, and address anything actionable.
  7. Self-rate — rate this work 1-10 against: correctness, test coverage, changelog accuracy, build/lint health, and comment resolution.
  8. Iterate — if it's not a 10, keep improving until it is before finishing.
  9. Summary — your final response must use the following structure exactly (no free-form paragraph summary).

  1. Impact analysis

    • Package: @typescript-eslint/parser (dev dependency)
    • Version change: 8.71.0 → 8.71.1
    • Usage: eslint.config.js loads the parser for src/**/*.ts linting.
    • Impact and risk: The lockfile-only patch updates development tooling; it does not affect Azurite runtime or storage APIs. The upstream release describes this as a version-only alignment bump.
  2. Build and conflict resolution

    • Commands run: npm ci --legacy-peer-deps, npm run build, npm run lint
    • Issues found: No conflicts or command failures. npm ci reported five moderate audit findings.
    • Result: Install, build, and lint passed.
  3. Tests

    • Tests added or updated: None; existing coverage already exercises the configured parser in tests/eslintConfig.test.ts.
    • Coverage: Real TypeScript parsing, trailing-decimal parsing, and enforcement of TypeScript ESLint rules.
    • Result: The focused parser tests passed (3); npm run test:package-scripts passed (8).
  4. Test suite

    • Commands run: npm test; npx mocha --require ts-node/register --no-timeouts --exit tests/eslintConfig.test.ts; npm run test:package-scripts
    • Passing: Full suite: 947 passing, 4 pending; focused parser suite: 3 passing; package-script suite: 8 passing.
    • Pending or failing: No local test failures. The GitHub PR validation matrix was still in progress (22 jobs successful, 8 in progress, none failed) at last check.
  5. Changelog

    • Entry added: No; this development-tool-only bump has no user-visible behavior change.
    • Location: No change to ChangeLog.md.
  6. PR comments

    • Threads reviewed: The supplied comments, PR comments, review comments, and reviews; no review threads were present.
    • Actions taken: Completed the requested impact review and validation. Existing commit 1997537 already contains the full lockfile update; no additional file changes were warranted.
    • Unresolved items: The GitHub PR validation matrix remains in progress; no failing result was found.
  7. Self-rating

    • Score: 10/10
    • Reasoning: The dependency usage is confirmed, existing parser-focused tests and the full suite pass, no unnecessary test or changelog changes were made, and all local build/lint checks pass. The remaining external CI jobs are pending, not failing.
  8. Iteration

    • Improvements made after self-review: Confirmed the existing parser smoke tests meaningfully cover the changed usage; avoided duplicating them or adding a dependency-version assertion.
  9. Summary

    • Why the update matters: Keeps the TypeScript ESLint parser on its patch release while validating Azurite's lint configuration.
    • Risk if not applied: The development toolchain remains on 8.71.0 and misses the 8.71.1 release; no runtime behavior difference is expected.
    • Final status: Local validation is complete; ready for human review once the remaining GitHub checks finish.

Looks like @typescript-eslint/parser is up-to-date now, so this is no longer needed.
