What happened

Android home screen widget looks a little bit off at the bottom edges of each button. The functionality works fine. The buttons just look weird.

I have a similar issue but this seems to be an overall issue with how the widget gets rendered by the system. The "shadow" or however you want to describe it is from the text that is usually displayed under the icon.
The widget itself is constrained to have a maximum height of one but the layout isn't optimized for being that compressed meaning the text gets cutoff and only a small shadow from the text is visible.
On my phone the text is just a tiny bit visible if the character is tall enough

The widgets will be greatly improved (by that I mean, rewritten, and will use Glance) in the next release. Suggestions for how the widgets should look are welcome! I am thinking of a single widget per-device for battery and quick controls like noise control and conversational awareness. And I was wondering if simple text for battery might be better instead of the current iOS-like design.

I think a good approach would be similar to the main app theme being switchable from the apple design to m3e.
I personally like the m3e one more as it fits more into the system but the general look of the widgets is pretty good as it is extremely simple and thus easy to understand.

Here's how it will look:

Customization for color and transparency will be available. Perhaps the corner radius too.

I might add a battery list widget as well. Probably the same design as the one provided by Settings Services or something.

I think the transparent widget would look really nice if you could add the contour glow from OPPO would maybe as another widget option it also gives a bit more liquid glass look

I like the designs, although I would just prefer the current 3 icons design(you can make them look different if you want but the 3 icons with no extra info is nice) if I wanna check battery I would personally check the notifications.

The widget can't sample what's beneath the widget, and a static color won't look good. Also, it seems like the contour glow should be added by the launcher?

I'll add an option to show icons, and hide conversational awareness toggle and the disconnect button. I could add an option to hide the battery text but it doesn't really take up too much space. However, I feel like the name should always be visible. I'm going to remove the logo entirely, looks very forced there.

btw, the notification will (optionally) show anc controls starting next update!
