+While Inventor is executing a task, two controls let you intervene without waiting for it to finish.

+ Click the **Stop** button to immediately cancel the running task. A timeline marker appears in the conversation showing `Stopped after Xs` — where X is the elapsed time in seconds.

+ Use stop when Inventor is heading in the wrong direction and you'd rather start fresh with a more specific description than wait for a result you'll discard.

+ Stopping a task automatically dismisses any pending approvals that were waiting on it — you won't need to clear them manually.

+ You can type and send a message while a task is in progress. The message shows a `Queued — will be applied shortly` indicator until Inventor reaches its next step. At that point, Inventor reads the queued message and redirects from there, picking up your new instruction instead of continuing on its current path.
