What do you want to work on?

I would like to contribute on all Observability related topics in OpenShell. While there has been steady progress on logs, metrics are still in active development and yet to be fully defined. A good example is this issue:

• feat(server): metrics instrumentation #909

For the time being, I've opened a small bug in the k8s driver related to how the log_level and environment fields are propagated to the Sandbox CR:

• bug(k8s): Kubernetes driver log_level and environment fields set on Sandbox CR spec have no effect #1265

I have a ready PR that I can open for it.

I am also very interested in the integration of OTLP into the project.

I would also like to work on: #1305
I believe it is a necessary step for achieving a more agile topology for OpenShell.

Why this change?

I'm working on including OpenShell to Gardener.
The main topics that I cover are observability, specifically in the context of k8s.

For that reason, I would like to contribute improvements and bug fixes that are required for our use cases.
