LightBurn and MillMage API EULA

Last Updated: June 2026

1. Acceptance

This End User License Agreement ("EULA") governs access to and use of the LightBurn and MillMage Application Programming Interfaces ("APIs"), related documentation, example code, and associated materials provided by LightBurn Software, Inc. ("LightBurn Software").

By accessing, using, implementing, or distributing software that interacts with the APIs, you agree to the terms of this EULA.

If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the APIs.

2. Relationship to Product License

Access to and use of the APIs requires a valid license to the applicable LightBurn or MillMage software. Your use of the APIs is subject to both this EULA and the end user license agreement governing your use of the applicable software ("Product EULA").

In the event of a conflict between this EULA and the applicable Product EULA, the Product EULA controls unless this EULA expressly addresses the subject matter in conflict.

3. Ownership

The APIs, API implementations, LightBurn software, MillMage software, documentation, and related materials are owned by LightBurn Software and are protected by copyright and other applicable laws.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, no ownership rights are transferred to you through access to or use of the APIs.

The public availability of API documentation does not imply that the APIs, implementations, or related software are open source.

4. Example Code

LightBurn Software may provide example code, sample applications, or reference implementations.

Such materials may be licensed separately under their own license terms.

Any separate license applies only to the specific example code or sample implementation identified by that license and does not apply to LightBurn, MillMage, the API implementation, or other proprietary materials.

5. Permitted Use

Subject to this EULA, LightBurn Software grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the APIs for personal, educational, research, commercial, or integration purposes in connection with supported versions of LightBurn and MillMage.

This license does not grant any ownership interest in the APIs, software, documentation, trademarks, or other intellectual property of LightBurn Software.

6. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

  • Any software, integrations, scripts, automations, or workflows you create using the APIs.
  • The security of systems, networks, credentials, and devices that interact with the APIs.
  • Verifying the accuracy, suitability, and safety of any data exchanged through the APIs.
  • Compliance with applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, and safety requirements.

You assume all risks associated with your use of the APIs.

7. No Endorsement of Remote Operation

LightBurn Software does not endorse, recommend, support, or encourage the remote operation of lasers, CNC machines, or other machinery.

The availability of API functionality, network connectivity, companion applications, pendant-style interfaces, or third-party integrations should not be interpreted as approval for remote machine operation.

Any person choosing to operate machinery remotely does so entirely at their own risk.

8. No Endorsement of Unattended Operation

The APIs are not intended to facilitate unattended machine operation.

LightBurn Software does not endorse, recommend, support, or encourage the operation of lasers, CNC machines, or other machinery without appropriate human supervision.

Users remain solely responsible for ensuring that machinery is operated safely and in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, applicable regulations, and accepted safety practices.

9. Not a Safety System

The APIs, related applications, pendant interfaces, integrations, monitoring tools, and associated software are convenience tools only.

They are not safety systems and must not be relied upon as a substitute for operator supervision, emergency stop systems, machine safeguards, fire prevention measures, workplace safety procedures, or other safety-related controls.

Users remain responsible for implementing and maintaining appropriate safety measures.

10. Unsupported Interfaces

Only publicly documented API functionality should be considered supported.

Undocumented, internal, experimental, reverse-engineered, or otherwise non-public interfaces are unsupported and may change, become unavailable, or be removed without notice.

LightBurn Software makes no commitment to maintain compatibility with unsupported functionality.

11. Version Compatibility

The APIs evolve alongside LightBurn and MillMage.

Endpoints, authentication methods, request formats, response formats, and available functionality may change between software releases.

LightBurn Software may provide migration guidance or replacement functionality where practical but does not guarantee backward compatibility between software versions.

Developers are responsible for testing and validating their integrations against the versions they intend to support.

12. No Warranty

THE APIS, DOCUMENTATION, EXAMPLE CODE, AND RELATED MATERIALS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE."

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIGHTBURN SOFTWARE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, SECURITY, OR AVAILABILITY.

LIGHTBURN SOFTWARE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE APIS WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR USE.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LIGHTBURN SOFTWARE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APIS.

THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION:

  • Equipment damage.
  • Machine damage.
  • Material loss.
  • Fire.
  • Property damage.
  • Personal injury.
  • Business interruption.
  • Lost profits.
  • Lost revenue.
  • Lost data.
  • Security incidents.
  • Unauthorized access.
  • Remote operation.
  • Unattended operation.

THIS LIMITATION APPLIES EVEN IF LIGHTBURN SOFTWARE HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

14. Future Changes

LightBurn Software reserves the right to modify, expand, restrict, replace, license separately, deprecate, or discontinue API functionality at any time.

LightBurn Software may also update this EULA from time to time.

Continued use of the APIs after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated EULA.

15. Termination

LightBurn Software may terminate or suspend access to API functionality if required for technical, legal, security, safety, or business reasons.

Upon termination, the rights granted under this EULA shall immediately cease.

Sections relating to ownership, warranties, liability, and legal limitations shall survive termination.
